Journal of Language, Literature, Linguistics, and Education (JOLLE)

Journal of Language, Literature, Linguistics, and Education (JOLLE) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes research articles, conceptual papers, literature reviews, and case studies in the fields of language, literature, linguistics, and education. The journal focuses on language teaching and learning, applied linguistics, literary studies, language policy, educational innovation, digital learning, curriculum development, literacy studies, multilingualism, discourse analysis, translation studies, and interdisciplinary research related to language and education. JOLLE aims to provide a scholarly forum for academics, researchers, educators, practitioners, policymakers, and students to share empirical findings, theoretical perspectives, and best practices that contribute to the advancement of language, literature, linguistics, and education.

 

Instructions for Authors

Articles submitted to JOLLE must be original manuscripts in the fields of language, literature, linguistics, education, educational technology, literacy studies, language assessment, curriculum studies, translation, discourse studies, and related areas. Manuscripts must not have been published in any national or international journals and must not be under consideration for publication in proceedings, books, or other journals.

Abstracts must be written in English with a maximum length of 250 words. The abstract should contain the background, research objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions of the study in a concise and clear manner.

Each manuscript must include 3–5 keywords. Each keyword may consist of one to three words and should reflect the main concepts of the article. Keywords must be written in Times New Roman, 12 pt.

The submitted article must be an original work and must not contain plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or unethical academic practices. Authors may be required to submit a statement of originality.

The maximum similarity index accepted by JOLLE is 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this limit may be returned to the author for revision or rejected by the editorial team.

Articles must be written in English using Microsoft Word format with file types .doc, .docx, or .rtf. The manuscript should use Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing, A4 paper size, and consist of approximately 10–15 pages.

Tables, graphs, and diagrams must be editable and should not be submitted in JPG format. Figures or images must be provided in good resolution and must be clearly readable.

Articles must follow the writing style and manuscript template provided by JOLLE.

All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed through a double-blind review process by at least two peer reviewers who have expertise relevant to the manuscript topic. Authors will be given the opportunity to revise the manuscript based on recommendations from reviewers and editors. The decision to accept, revise, or reject a manuscript will be communicated through the author's account and/or email.

References should be managed using Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or other reference management software. The bibliography should follow APA Style (7th Edition). Manuscripts should include at least 25 references, with a minimum of 70% from national and international journal articles published within the last 10 years.

 

Systematic Articles

Title

The title should be concise, specific, informative, and able to reflect the main subject of the article. The title should consist of approximately 12–17 words and must be written in English. The title is placed in the center of the page using Times New Roman, 12 pt, bold, and written in title case.

Author Name and Affiliation

The author's name must be written without academic degrees. Author names should be followed by institutional affiliations, including the name of institution, address, postal code, and country. The corresponding author's email address must be clearly stated.

The author's name is placed below the article title using Times New Roman, 12 pt, bold. Author affiliations should use superscript numbers without brackets.

Abstract

The abstract must be written in English and should not exceed 250 words. It should briefly describe the background, research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. The abstract must be written as one paragraph and should clearly represent the content of the manuscript.

 

Keywords

Keywords should consist of 3–5 words or phrases that reflect the core concepts of the article. Keywords must be specific, informative, and relevant to the topic of the manuscript.

 

Introduction

The introduction should explain the background of the study, research problems, research context, literature review, research gap, novelty, and research objectives. The introduction should be presented in integrated paragraphs and supported by relevant and recent references.

Authors are encouraged to emphasize current issues and developments related to language, literature, linguistics, education, educational technology, literacy, multilingualism, and language policy.

 

Research Method

The research method section should clearly describe the research design, research approach, population and sample, data sources, time and place of research, data collection techniques, research instruments, variables or research framework, and data analysis techniques.

For qualitative research, authors should explain the research setting, participants, data collection procedures, trustworthiness, and data analysis approach.

For quantitative research, authors should explain sampling techniques, measurement instruments, validity and reliability testing, and statistical analysis methods.

For literature review studies, authors should explain the review protocol, inclusion and exclusion criteria, database sources, and analysis procedures.

 

Results and Discussion

The results and discussion section should present research findings clearly and systematically. Results may be supported by tables, graphs, figures, charts, or statistical outputs. Tables, graphs, and charts must be editable and should not be displayed in JPG format.

The discussion should provide analysis, interpretation, and synthesis of the research findings. Authors should relate the findings to relevant theories, previous studies, and practical implications in language, literature, linguistics, and education.

Authors are encouraged to highlight the theoretical contribution, educational significance, and practical relevance of their findings.

 

Conclusion

The conclusion should present a concise summary of the research findings as answers to the research questions or objectives. The conclusion should also include the theoretical contribution, practical implications, limitations of the study, and recommendations for future research.

The conclusion must be written in paragraph form.

 

References

The reference list must follow APA Style (7th Edition) and include only sources cited in the manuscript.

References should mainly consist of primary sources, such as national and international journal articles, conference proceedings, books, research reports, dissertations, and official documents.

At least 70% of references should come from journal articles published within the last 10 years.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
